Justice is an action.

Working in Tribal contexts has humbled me with reflection, uplifted me with action, supported me with knowledge, and challenged me with adaptation. Elevating the work of others, actively making space for all people to contribute, making my work accessible, and supporting representation paves the way for a more just future and ensures my work is both relevant and reciprocal. Nearly everything I do at the university is supported by the keystone of justice.

I support new voices and more inclusive formats as Creative Director of Currents. I work towards institutional change on SMEA’s Curriculum Committee. I build capacity, community, and support more representative futures at UW CEHE. I cross disciplines and understandings at Future Rivers and EarthLab. I apply all of this in my thesis. Instead of telling communities how to do things I build relationships, asking partners what they would like to see more of in their communities before sharing tools, resources, and support to build sustainable capacity. I view my roles as fully replaceable, ensuring that resources, support, and human capacity are there to take a project over into the future.

The images below show some of the capacity building, knowledge transfer, and justice work I have engaged with while at UW SMEA.
